Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who is your typical e-DESIGN client?
There are three distinctive types of clients using e-DEDIGN: clients that want to work with a designer however their budget is limited; clients whom are very talented and love doing things themselves, however they still want a personalized design "master plan" to follow; and clients that even living outside our service area, they still want to have our design touch implemented into their rooms.

2. How do you communicate with your clients?
Since e-DESIGN is an online service all correspondence is done via email, video conference using Skype, and phone calls.

3. If everything is done online how do you get to know your client?
Information is KEY and we ask each and every potential client to send us as much information as they possibly can, including their likes and dislikes, their lifestyle, their needs, their culture, their issues with the room, etc. The more information the client sends us, the more we get to know them. In addition to measurements of the space and a completed questionnaire, we encourage our clients to send us tear sheets from magazines and the internet, pictures of other rooms in their home, photos of family belongs (heirloom) swatches of fabrics and colors they love as well items and colors they hate and under no circumstance they want to have them in their home.

4. Who does actually do the work?
Each project is carefully assigned to one of our design associates who will work closely with principal and registered interior designer Andrea to put together your color palette, your furniture plan and hand pick each piece for your room.

5. I have no idea how to measure the room. Can you help me?
YES. Once you place an order with us, you will receive a guide to assist you throughout the entire design process, including a step-by-step document showing how to measure your room, your windows, and any other information we consider necessary in order to design your room

6. When do I submit the payment?
The payment is submitted at the time you place an order with us, at the beginning of the process. We will not start working on any project until the payment is received in full by our office and cleared.

7. After the payment is submitted how long until I receive my design?
In general we take between 4 and 6 weeks to complete a project. However if you are ordering several rooms at a time we might need few more weeks to complete your project. Please keep in mind that although you do everything we can to complete a project within 4 to 6 weeks, we will not compromise our design quality to expedite a project. If we become overwhelmed with the excessive amount of orders you will let you know about your new time frame.

8. Can you incorporate our current furniture including few heirloom pieces?
Absolutely. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, including keeping your current furniture and your heirloom pieces. However if you have a piece that is upholstered we might suggest a different fabric if the original one doesn’t work with your new room design.

9. Do you offer support after we receive the box?
Always. Even thou each box comes with a step-by-step guide on how to implement our design, we encourage our clients to contact us whenever they have a question about room. We want the e-DESIGN box to be easy to implement.

10. Does e-DEISGN come with trade-only options?
Yes. Right at the beginning of our client profile questionnaire we ask you if you would like to have your room designed incorporating strictly trade-only products, retail products, or a combination of both. All trade-only items are billed at net price plus 25% commission and the purchasing is done through VK Sustainable Concepts' office.
